This is really a great product. I live in an area where I drive my silver Honda Odyssey over dirt roads, and evidently there is a good bit of metal/rust in the dirt, and I get little tiny rust spots embedded into the paint. Needless to say, this is frustrating. I have worked out the spots with car cleaner wax and LOTS of elbow grease, and even then the results were less than ideal. I read about clay bars removing deposits, so I picked up this kit from the local auto parts store. Wow! The clay removes all the deposits completely! I wish I could say effortlessly, but there was still a bit of elbow grease involved. However, when I was finished, the vehicle never looked so good since the showroom! I don't usually go to the trouble of giving reviews, but when I saw a 1 STAR review of this product due to user error, I had to write something. If you want an easy wax job, get a drive through car wash spray-on wax and suffer with the results. If you want a great finish, it will take some effort any way you go. Get this product and do it right! You won't be disappointed. (And no, I don't work for Turtle Wax ;)

Between the liquid clay and the final clay bar itself this is the best clay kit I've ever used - by FAR

I bought this stuff at costco and thought what the heck. I was amazed at how little was used during the application and how well it worked on everything on my exterior. I mean everything plastic, chrome, paint rubber edges for windows. This stuff is a dream for a car exterior. It is easy to put on a you just buff off with a micro cloth. I bought more at Costco when I saw it because their was only to more left. This is worth ever penny. My buddy put it over his hard carnuba wax on the hood off his beat up jeep and wow. We joked that it could polish dirt.

Turtle Wax T-466KT was designed to remove wax and built-up dirt. It works 100% effectively.

I own a car with a clearcoat paint finish. I took my car to commercial car washes for years, unaware that the soft wax product they were applying was leaving a film that everything from bugs to tar and resin from trees landed on and sunk into.

After a few years, my finish was dotted and specked with impurities. Washing and scrubbing did nothing.

I purchased this product and using the spray bottle and the bar, I was able to remove 100% of the imperfections from my paint finish. Running the bar over your paint with a light pressure will result in dark, resin-like material coming up. This is the old wax. With it comes 100% of the bugs, specks, and other things your car has been collecting for years.

Because you will most definitely remove the finish from your paint, you must follow this process with a suitable polish. I tried the synthetic ICE polish and am extremely happy with the results. My paint looks new/clean, and there is a mirror shine now to my hood when I drive down the road.

I am very happy with this product. I recommend it 100%. However be prepared for an arm workout, so you ladies should ask a guy, butch girlfriend or teenage son to do this part for you...

  5. Review by Informed Buyer for Turtle Wax T-466KT ICE Clay Kit
Following the product instructions I had the car professionally washed before applying the first component of the kit. After application and removal of the Ice Liquid Clay (component #1) the car was thoroughly dried and parked in my garage. I started the process of applying the Clay Bar Lubricant gliding the clay bar over the recommended 2'x 2' work area. After finishing approximately 50% of the car I noticed that the bar started leaving deposits of clay on the paint finish even though I applied the lubricant liberally. These deposits became more numerous and were very difficult to remove. I finally was able to remove them by using a liquid cleaner/wax.

I called the Turtlewax hotline to determine an assignable cause. I confirmed that the car was not in direct sunlight - temperature @ 70f. The rep advised that I was probably heating up the clay by rubbing too hard causing the deposits to occur. Since I was applying the lubricant so liberally and simply gliding the bar over the work area I found it difficult to believe that the clay bar's external temperature could increase to the point where a transfer of clay to the paint could occur. I do not recommend this product based on its poor performance and the senseless response provided by the Turtlewax rep.
